Three people were taken to hospital following an overnight house fire in Barrie, while police are seeking help locating a missing pet connected to the incident.

Emergency crews responded to a fully engulfed home on Charlbrook Avenue shortly after midnight July 13. Police said two people were transported to hospital as a precaution due to possible smoke inhalation, while a third person was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. All three individuals have since been released.

Fire officials said the reported injuries were not caused by the fire itself. Barrie Police have secured the scene, and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to assist with the investigation into the cause of the blaze.

Police are also asking the public to help locate a small grey-and-white mixed-breed dog that went missing while one of the patients was receiving care. The dog was last seen near Georgian Drive.

Anyone with information about the pet’s location is asked to contact Barrie police.
