Two people were killed and several others injured in three serious collisions over the weekend in York Region, prompting police to appeal for information.
Friday Night
At around 7:50 p.m., a crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV occurred at 8th Concession and 15th Sideroad. Two people in the pickup truck were seriously injured, while the SUV driver remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Saturday Afternoon
Just before 1 p.m., a motorcyclist collided with a transit bus at Jane Street and Ahmadiyya Avenue. Despite aid from an off-duty nurse, the motorcyclist died on the way to hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Sunday Afternoon
Around 2:15 p.m., a collision at Jane Street and 16th Sideroad resulted in the death of a 93-year-old passenger, who suffered severe head trauma. The 95-year-old driver was seriously injured and taken to a trauma centre. Five people in the other vehicle were also hospitalized.
York Regional Police are asking anyone with information or dash cam footage from any of the incidents to contact them or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers.
