A 78-year-old Waterloo man has died following a three-vehicle collision Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 10:50 a.m. at Fischer-Hallman Road North and Columbia Street West, prompting Waterloo Regional Police traffic officers to attend the scene.
The man was driving a grey Nissan when it was involved in the collision with a white Ford pickup truck and a black Cadillac. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died.
The 62-year-old man driving the Ford was also hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The 63-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Cadillac was not physically injured.
The intersection remained closed for several hours as investigators documented the scene and gathered evidence. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
