A 21-year-old Toronto man is facing charges after allegedly refusing a breath test following an early-morning crash in Kenora.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to Homestake Road around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday after reports suggested the driver may have been impaired. Officers say they had grounds to believe alcohol had been consumed and made multiple demands for a breath sample, which the driver allegedly refused.
As a result, the man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a demand. His driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for a week. He was later released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on January 22 at 1:30 p.m.
