A southern Ontario truck driver has been charged following a rollover crash in northwestern Ontario on Tuesday that led to a fire and the closure of Highway 17. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. in Dryden, when a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) trailer rolled over and caught fire on Highway 17, between Johnston Road and Glengold Road.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the fire was quickly contained, and both occupants of the CMV were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 38-year-old driver from Guelph has been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and is scheduled to appear in court on August 25 in Dryden.
