A TTC streetcar derailed early Sunday morning following a collision with a car at a busy downtown intersection, according to police. The crash occurred around 5:39 a.m. near Richmond Street W. and Bay Street.

Toronto Fire confirmed the streetcar was completely off the tracks, but the scene was cleared once TTC staff and police arrived. By 9:11 a.m., roads in the area had reopened and the vehicles involved were moved from the intersection.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation. The TTC also stated that both the westbound 501 Queen streetcar and the 19 Bay bus resumed regular service after taking detours due to the incident.
