A TTC streetcar operator was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Toronto’s Entertainment District on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before 10:15 a.m. on Adelaide Street East, just past Spadina Avenue. Police said the operator was outside the streetcar near the Charlotte Street loop when the collision happened. The reason for the operator being outside the vehicle has not been confirmed.
Paramedics transported the driver to hospital, though details about the severity of the injuries have not been released. The motorist involved stayed at the scene.
Adelaide Street was temporarily shut down east of Spadina during the investigation but has since reopened.
