Ottawa Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-vehicle collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon in rural southeast Ottawa.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Parkway and 9th Line roads, involving a dump truck and an SUV carrying two adults and three children. All five occupants of the SUV sustained serious injuries, with one child suffering life-threatening injuries. The dump truck driver was not hurt.
Ottawa Fire Services reported that two people were trapped inside the SUV, prompting firefighters to remove both driver-side doors to free them. Due to a fuel leak caused by the crash, crews applied absorbent material and disconnected the vehicles’ batteries to secure the scene.
