Two men are in custody after fleeing the scene of a vehicle rollover in Toronto’s Distillery District early Monday morning. The crash occurred around 3:14 a.m. near Cherry Street and Front Street, leaving the vehicle abandoned on streetcar tracks and temporarily halting TTC service in the area.
Police, assisted by a K9 unit, later located the two men. One was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed who was driving, whether both were in the vehicle, or why they fled. It is also unclear if the vehicle was stolen.
Cherry Street reopened around 7 a.m. as the investigation continues, and any potential charges have not been disclosed.
