Two construction workers were taken to hospital after a garbage bin fell from a forklift and struck them at a worksite in downtown Ottawa on Wednesday morning.
Ottawa Paramedic Service said the incident occurred at about 8:20 a.m. near the intersection of Argyle Avenue and Metcalfe Street. The workers, who are in their 30s and 50s, were injured when the bin fell during handling at the construction site.
Both individuals were transported to hospital with serious but stable injuries after receiving treatment at the scene.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour has launched an investigation into the workplace incident.
