Police are investigating a Thursday night collision in which a 44-year-old woman and a male youth from Cambridge were struck by a car while cycling. Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Christopher Drive and Myers Road at 7 p.m. after receiving reports that a Honda Civic had hit the cyclists.
The investigation revealed that the Civic, traveling south on Christopher Drive, turned right onto Myers Road and into the westbound lane. The car then struck the cyclists, who were riding east in the westbound lane of Myers Road.
The cyclists were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Civic was uninjured. Police closed the intersection for two hours to investigate, and the inquiry is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s traffic unit.
