A construction-zone collision in Etobicoke sent two drivers to hospital early Tuesday and is now being investigated as a workplace-related incident.

The crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. near Dixon Road and Islington Avenue, involving a work truck connected to an active construction site. Debris from the impact was scattered across the area.

Police said a man in his 40s suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the other driver was treated for minor injuries. Both were transported to hospital.

Because one vehicle was part of the construction operation, the case has been transferred to the Ontario Ministry of Labour for further investigation. No charges have been announced.

The incident also affected transit service, with the Toronto Transit Commission rerouting 37 Islington buses around the scene.
