A 20-year-old Kitchener driver is facing a careless driving charge following a two-vehicle collision near Rockwood that left two people injured.

The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. Sunday on Wellington Road 44. The Wellington County OPP did not release details about what led to the collision, but confirmed that one driver and one passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the Kitchener driver has been charged under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act with careless driving, in addition to a $490 fine and six demerit points.
