A woman is in critical condition and a man suffered serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Whitchurch-Stouffville early Thursday.
York Regional Police say the collision happened at about 12:30 a.m. near Bloomington Road and Kennedy Road when a Mercedes SUV left the roadway. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
The male driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the female passenger remains hospitalized with critical injuries.
The force’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the crash. Bloomington Road between Warden Avenue and Kennedy Road was closed for several hours while officers examined the scene.
Police are asking witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision, to contact investigators.
