A deadly four-vehicle collision early Friday morning resulted in two fatalities and temporarily shut down Highway 7 between Perth and Maberly, according to Ontario Provincial Police. The crash occurred just after 3 a.m. near Maberly and involved two transport trucks, an SUV, and a pickup truck.

A 59-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man from Ottawa, both traveling in the SUV, died at the scene. Four others were injured—two critically and taken to hospital, while the others sustained minor injuries. No children were involved.

Initial reports suggest the crash may have started when a westbound pickup truck collided with an eastbound transport truck. Collision reconstruction specialists were on-site to determine the exact cause. Highway 7 was reopened later that afternoon.
