Two men are in critical condition following a collision involving a motorized scooter and a vehicle in Chatham on Saturday night.

Chatham-Kent police said the crash occurred around 10:11 p.m. at the intersection of Richmond Street and Inshes Avenue. Investigators determined a car travelling east on Richmond Street collided with a northbound motorized scooter as it entered the intersection.

The scooter’s two occupants, a 41-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Chatham, sustained life-threatening injuries. They were initially taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance before being transferred to Windsor Regional Hospital.

The 38-year-old driver of the vehicle and a passenger were not injured. Police continue to investigate the collision.
