Two Brantford men are facing multiple charges after a crash involving a stolen vehicle led police to recover drugs and weapons over the weekend.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. Saturday near Hamilton Avenue and Colborne Street. Police say the driver of a stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot after the crash, though the vehicle was later recovered.
While investigating, officers noticed another vehicle repeatedly driving through the area and conducted a traffic stop. Police allege the driver involved in the crash and another man were inside the second vehicle.
During a search, officers seized approximately 130 grams of methamphetamine, along with smaller quantities of crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine.
A 40-year-old Brantford man has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old Brantford man is facing several charges, including failing to remain at the scene of a collision, driving without a licence, failing to report an accident, possession of stolen property, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm while under a prohibition order, and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
