Two men were sent to hospital following a serious collision in London on Wednesday. Around 6:40 p.m., a man driving a 2021 Tesla east on Huron Street approached the intersection at Adelaide Street North, bypassed a red light by cutting through the left-turn lane, and accelerated to about 130 km/h in a 50 km/h zone while passing southbound traffic.

He then crossed into oncoming lanes and struck a northbound pickup truck. Surveillance and dashcam footage reportedly captured the entire sequence. The pickup driver suffered minor injuries, while the Tesla driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The case was transferred to the London Police Service’s Road Safety Section. A 36-year-old London man has since been charged with dangerous operation, racing a motor vehicle, and failing to stop at a red light. He appeared in court on Wednesday and is expected to return on January 27, 2026.
