Two men were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle collision caused major delays on Highway 400 in Barrie Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes approaching Dunlop Street West. Emergency crews responded as the highway was temporarily shut down, bringing traffic to a standstill.

The far-right lane was later reopened, but another lane remained blocked after one of two fire trucks at the scene suffered a flat tire after striking debris from the collision.

The OPP is advising motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while cleanup and recovery efforts continue.
