A 29-year-old London man has been arrested and charged after crashing into an unmarked police vehicle in the city’s west end late Monday night.
London police say two officers with the Patrol Operations Investigative Section were travelling through the intersection of Oxford Street West and Platt’s Lane around 11:55 p.m. when a vehicle heading south on Platt’s Lane ran a red light and struck their unmarked cruiser.
Officers reported observing signs of impairment when they checked on the driver, who was then taken into custody. Police say the man was not injured, while both officers involved suffered minor injuries.
Following the investigation, the driver was charged with impaired driving and impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
He is scheduled to appear in London court on March 26.
