Two people were arrested after an RV crashed into a police cruiser Wednesday night near Highway 12 in Orillia. Officers had been directing traffic on Atherley Road following an earlier collision when the speeding RV struck the cruiser, causing significant damage.
Police say the vehicle then continued toward other cars and workers before fleeing north on Highway 12. With help from Rama First Nation Police, the RV was stopped and both occupants were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 41-year-old man faces seven charges, including three counts of dangerous driving, while a 38-year-old woman is charged with failing to comply with police orders. The investigation continues.
