A serious two-vehicle collision in the Kawartha Lakes region sent two people to hospital Saturday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police reported the crash shortly before 1 p.m. on County Road 48 near Coboconk. Police say one driver was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, while their passenger was taken by ground ambulance with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The second driver was not hurt.
County Road 48 was shut down in both directions between Maritime Road and Ferguson Road as investigators examined the scene. Police advised motorists to steer clear of the area, noting the closure was expected to remain in place for several hours.
