London firefighters responded to multiple emergency calls Thursday night, including two separate apartment fires.

At approximately 11 p.m., crews were dispatched to an apartment building on Kent Street after flames were spotted on a balcony. Firefighters rescued one occupant from the unit, who was later transported to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Later in the evening, emergency crews attended a kitchen fire at an apartment building on Richmond Street near Western University. One person was treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
