Emergency crews were called to a residential townhouse near Driftwood Avenue and Jane Street early Sunday after a fire broke out, sending two people to hospital. Toronto Fire Services arrived shortly after 1 a.m. and discovered flames on the second floor of the home.

Everyone inside had already made it out safely before firefighters entered, and the blaze was extinguished soon after. Paramedics treated and transported two individuals with minor injuries, while two other residents were left without housing due to the damage.

TTC buses were brought in to offer temporary shelter as crews remained on scene for monitoring. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed.
