Two seniors were hospitalized following a fire at an apartment building in East York on Sunday night.
Emergency crews were called just after 9 p.m. to the area of Cosburn Avenue and Linsmore Crescent in Toronto after reports of a blaze in a unit located above a commercial space.
The Toronto Police Service said the building was evacuated as a precaution. An elderly man and woman were transported to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Road closures remain in effect in the surrounding area while crews respond.
