A 911 call on Saturday prompted a swift response from paramedics and police to Church Street in Alliston, where a seven-year-old child had been struck by a car. The child was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, a 19-year-old Alliston teenager, fled the scene but was later arrested on Industrial Parkway. He faces multiple charges, including failure to stop after an accident, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and several assault and weapon-related offenses.

In addition, a 16-year-old youth from Bradford was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order. Both individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The OPP Major Crime unit is assisting with the investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
