Ottawa Police Service are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-vehicle crash that left two teenage boys in life-threatening condition on Friday afternoon in south Ottawa.

At around 6 p.m., police were called to the scene at Twin Elm Road and Brophy Drive, where a vehicle had collided with farm equipment. Upon arrival, they found the driver of the farm equipment uninjured, but two male teens in critical condition. Both were transported to CHEO with life-threatening injuries.

Ottawa Fire Services confirmed the collision involved a sedan severely damaged and nose-first in a ditch, and a tractor towing tandem disks. One teen was trapped inside the sedan, while the other had been ejected. Bystanders were assisting the victims when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters used specialized equipment to cut open the vehicle, freeing the trapped teen, who was then placed on a backboard and taken to the hospital by paramedics.

The scene was cleared by 7:20 p.m., and police are now requesting any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2345, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
