A 68-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Scarborough early Sunday.

Toronto police say the collision happened shortly after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Kingston Road and Brimley Road. According to investigators, a black Audi SUV driven by a 68-year-old man was heading south on Brimley, while a white Kia driven by a 69-year-old man was travelling east on Kingston. One of the vehicles reportedly ran a red light, causing the crash.

Three people were taken to hospital — the woman, who was a passenger in the Kia, suffered life-threatening injuries, while both male drivers sustained minor injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Toronto police.
