A two-vehicle collision in Caledon early Monday morning knocked down a hydro pole, forcing the closure of a busy intersection for several hours.

Emergency crews responded to the crash at the intersection of Mayfield Road and Kennedy Road at approximately 2:40 a.m. Ontario Provincial Police said the collision resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection remained closed while hydro crews carried out repairs to the damaged pole. Mayfield Road was shut down between Kennedy Road and Snellview Boulevard, while Kennedy Road was closed between Mayfield Road and Cranforth Drive.

Police confirmed the intersection reopened shortly after noon.
