A weapons-related call in Tecumseh Thursday afternoon escalated into a high-speed chase and crash, according to Essex County OPP.

Officers responded around 2:12 p.m. to a residence on Aloha Drive. During the incident, a black Dodge Challenger and a white Ram pickup reportedly fled the scene at high speeds, prompting officers to initiate a short pursuit.

The two vehicles later collided at the intersection of Tecumseh Road and Lesperance Road, leaving the Challenger disabled. The Ram fled the crash scene and continued toward Windsor. Officers ended the pursuit due to public safety concerns.

Two people inside the Challenger were taken into custody, while the Ram and its occupants remain at large. Nobody was injured in the incident. The situation is under active investigation by the Essex County OPP Major Crime Unit.

Police are asking anyone with information, including dashcam or surveillance footage, to contact the Essex County OPP.
