Two women were taken to hospital following a serious two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Mississauga, one with life-threatening injuries.
The collision occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. near Mississauga Road and Beaverbrook Way, just north of the Queen Elizabeth Way. The Peel Regional Police said one woman was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition, while the other was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
A male driver has been taken into custody. Police have not yet announced any charges or provided details about what led to the crash.
Mississauga Road remains closed between Beaverbrook Way and north of Sheridan Way as investigators continue their work. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
