Two motorcyclists were transported to hospital after separate but related collisions in Scarborough on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the Highland Creek neighbourhood near Military Trail and Ellesmere Road at approximately 3:20 p.m. following reports of a single-motorcycle crash. Police say a second motorcyclist attempting to avoid the initial incident subsequently became involved in a collision.
Both riders, identified as women in their 20s, were thrown from their motorcycles. One rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, while the second suffered minor injuries.
Military Trail remains closed in both directions north of Ellesmere Road as investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the crashes.
