A dog was killed and a man was injured after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in downtown Toronto on Friday afternoon, police say. Officers were called to the area of Lakeshore Boulevard and Remembrance Drive around 2:18 p.m.
The dog was pronounced dead at the scene, while the pedestrian was taken to hospital and later determined to have non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the driver stayed at the scene, and road closures in the area were lifted shortly after 3:20 p.m.
