Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a hit-and-run after a vehicle crashed into a home in Cambridge late Thursday night.

Officers were called to the area of Main Street and Lowrey Avenue North around 11 p.m., where a vehicle had left the roadway, struck a house, and damaged nearby power lines. The driver fled before police arrived.

The collision caused power outages and forced road closures while utility crews worked to restore electricity. No injuries were reported.

Police have not released a description of the driver. Main Street was shut down for several hours but has since reopened. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has surveillance or dash-camera footage from the area to come forward.
