Toronto police are advising the public to avoid the area of McNicoll Avenue and Tiffield Road, east of Middlefield Road, after a vehicle struck a fire hydrant Monday evening.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before 6:30 p.m. It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
The damaged hydrant began releasing water, causing flooding along McNicoll Avenue. Fire crews are on site using equipment to remove water from a nearby building affected by the flooding.
