Oxford OPP is appealing to the public for assistance following a hit-and-run involving a cyclist late Thursday night. Emergency crews from the Oxford County EMS and East Zorra-Tavistock Fire Department responded to a call around 11 p.m. regarding a collision on Blandford Street in Innerkip. A cyclist had been struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene before officers arrived.
The cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Police are urging anyone with information—especially those who were in the area between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., or who may have dashcam or surveillance footage—to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Update – A 60-year-old man from Woodstock is charged with Failing to Remain at a Collision Causing Bodily Harm.
