A section of Aurora Road in King Township has been shut down following an early-morning crash that brought down hydro lines. York Regional Police say officers were called just after 6 a.m. Saturday to the area near Jane Street for a single-vehicle collision.

Investigators say the vehicle hit a hydro pole, causing significant damage and sending power lines onto the roadway. As a result, Aurora Road has been closed in both directions between Jane Street and Highway 400.

No injuries were reported. Police say the closure is expected to last for an extended period as repair crews work to restore the damaged infrastructure. Drivers are being urged to steer clear of the area and find alternate routes.
