Toronto police are investigating a suspicious vehicle crash in Etobicoke after a vehicle believed to have been damaged by gunfire struck a tree early Thursday.
Officers responded to International Boulevard and Carlingview Drive around 4:30 a.m. following reports of a single-vehicle collision. Police said the driver left the scene before officers arrived, and no description is currently available.
The white vehicle was found with apparent damage consistent with gunfire. The crash occurred hours after a man was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds inside a nearby home on Botfield Avenue.
Police have not confirmed whether the two incidents are related.
International Boulevard was temporarily closed between Carlingview Drive and Galaxy Boulevard while investigators examined the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
