A motorcyclist wanted by police was seriously injured in a crash west of Kingston on Thursday afternoon and taken to the hospital. The incident occurred after police had received a report of a speeding motorcycle heading east on Bath Road around 1:30 p.m. Shortly after, the bike collided with a car at the intersection of Bath Road and Westfield Road.
Plainclothes officers from the OPP were already in the area but had stopped any active pursuit due to concerns about the rider’s dangerous behavior. The crash took place after they had disengaged.
Frontenac Paramedics transported the rider to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed until late that evening as investigators, including a collision reconstruction expert, worked at the scene. Both the collision and a separate criminal investigation involving the rider remain ongoing.
