A 21-year-old Waterloo man is facing several charges after a vehicle he was driving crashed into a home in Kitchener on Thursday evening.

Around 5:30 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police attempted to stop a black Nissan on Victoria Street South near Weichel Street. The driver sped off, lost control, and crashed into a house, causing major property damage.

Both the driver and an 18-year-old passenger from Woolwich Township fled on foot but were quickly arrested. The driver faces charges including fleeing from police, dangerous driving, leaving the scene of a crash, driving under suspension, and failing to provide proof of insurance. The passenger was charged with failing to stop after an accident.
