A fatal snowmobile crash early Saturday morning has claimed the life of a 65-year-old resident of Wawa.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, officers from the Superior East OPP responded to a serious single-vehicle snowmobile collision on Perry Lake at about 1 a.m. on March 14.
Police said the operator of the snowmobile was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the individual’s name.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, and no information has been provided so far about what may have caused the incident.
