A 16-year-old was seriously injured in a snowmobile crash in Wellington County on Monday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police say the incident occurred around 9 a.m. on private property in Ponsonby, a rural area east of Guelph. The teenager was taken to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to a trauma centre with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash coincided with the launch of OPP’s Motorized Snowmobile Week, a safety awareness campaign focused on responsible snowmobile use on and off designated trails.
