A 51-year-old man from Whitby has died following a snowmobile crash in Kearney, according to provincial police.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers were called to Trail AL301 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs around 2 p.m. Saturday after reports that a snowmobile had struck a tree. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
OPP technical collision investigators and a reconstruction specialist have been brought in as the investigation continues. Access to the trail was closed for several hours to allow police to examine the scene and reopened later that evening at approximately 9:35 p.m.
Police are asking anyone with information related to the crash to contact them.
