An 89-year-old cyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection on Friday afternoon.
Police responded to the collision shortly after noon at the intersection of Northwood Street and McKay Avenue. Investigators said the man was riding an electric bicycle through the intersection when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The intersection was closed for several hours following the incident but has since reopened to traffic.
