A Windsor man is facing charges following a fatal crash last month near the Leamington–Kingsville border that killed a toddler and injured several others.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road 31 around 10:10 a.m. on March 9 for a three-vehicle collision. A 15-month-old boy who was a passenger in an SUV suffered critical injuries and later died in hospital.
The child’s mother, a 33-year-old woman who was driving the SUV, was seriously injured. Three people from the other vehicles involved were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
After investigating, Ontario Provincial Police have charged 58-year-old Darin McAndrew of Windsor with one count of dangerous driving causing death and three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
