A 37-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after a vehicle left the roadway and ended up in a ditch in Barrie on Thursday evening.
Police say they were alerted to a suspected impaired driver travelling northbound between Big Bay Point Road and Mapleview Drive East. The vehicle later swerved off the road near the intersection of Huronia Road and Mapleview Drive East.
When officers arrived, the driver and a 14-year-old boy were both outside the vehicle. Police reported signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol and bloodshot, glassy eyes.
The roadway was temporarily closed while the vehicle was removed from the ditch. No injuries were reported.
The woman has been charged with careless driving, operating a vehicle while prohibited, refusing or failing to comply with a demand, and breaching a probation order.
