A 48-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening in Wallenstein.

Waterloo regional police say the collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Herrgott Road and Line 86 in Wellesley Township. The woman was walking in the area when she was hit by a northbound vehicle. She was taken to a hospital outside the region for treatment.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was not injured. Police have not announced any charges, and the intersection was partially closed for several hours while officers investigated.
