A 53-year-old woman is facing an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle crash on Windsor’s E.C. Row Expressway.
Windsor police responded to the collision near Central Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found a heavily damaged Dodge Charger in a ditch after it had broken through a guardrail and travelled down an embankment near the Central Avenue on-ramp.
Police said officers detected an odour of alcohol while speaking with the driver. She failed a roadside breath test and was taken to police headquarters, where she also failed additional breath tests.
The woman suffered minor injuries in the crash.
She has been charged with operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
