A 63-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle on the driveway of a home in York Thursday evening.
Toronto police were called to the Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street area around 8:25 p.m. after reports of a pedestrian seriously injured on private property.
Investigators said the woman was standing in front of a vehicle and helping guide the driver up a temporary ramp when the vehicle suddenly moved forward. Police said the 73-year-old driver of a black Honda Passport lost control and struck her.
The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries.
Traffic Services officers are investigating and spent the night collecting evidence at the scene. Investigators are asking anyone with relevant security or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
