A 57-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Ajax on Thursday morning. Police say the pedestrian was crossing near the intersection of Kingston Road West and Ritchie Avenue just after 11 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle making a left turn.
She was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre and remains in life-threatening condition. The driver stayed at the scene, and police say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Update – On Saturday Jan 24, police announced in an update that the woman has died from her injuries.
